The US-ASEAN Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are pleased to invite you to a reception and discussion with H.E. Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore, on Monday, August 1, 2016. The event will feature a keynote address by and WEF-style discussion with Prime Minister Lee, who is visiting Washington to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and the United States.
Over the last five decades this bilateral relationship has grown into one of the strongest in the region. As a result of these strong political, economic, and defense ties, Singapore has served as an anchor for the United States' pivot to Asia. The United States-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (USSFTA) has been described as the United States’ most successful FTA globally, and the strong ties in that FTA made Singapore an important partner in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations.
Please contact Riley Smith (rsmith@usasean.org) if you have any questions or would like to sponsor the event.
