Please join us for the last Philippines Committee Quarterly Call of 2016.
During the first part of the call, Dr. Renato Cruz De Castro will speak about the foreign policy objectives of the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte and their implications for domestic economic policy. He will also place the administration's recent foreign policy pronouncements in a historical context. Dr. De Castro is a full professor (on Sabbatical Leave) in the International Studies Department, De La Salle University, Manila, and holds the Charles Lui Chi Keung Professorial Chair in China Studies. He is currently the U.S.-ASEAN Fulbright Initiative Researcher from the Philippines based in the East-West Center in Washington D.C. In 2009, Dr. De Castro became the U.S. State Department ASEAN Research Fellow from the Philippines and was based in the Political Science Department of Arizona State University. He also served as a consultant in the National Security Council of the Philippines during the Administration of Benigno Aquino III. Dr. De Castro's full bio can be found here.
The second part of the call will be devoted to discussing the Philippines Committee's upcoming programs and priorities.
