Mission to the ASEAN Customs Directors General Meeting, 2017

The US-ASEAN Business Council is now registering executives for the Customs Directors-General Meeting. This is the Customs and Trade Facilitation Committee’s flagship mission where member companies are given the opportunity to engage all 10 ASEAN Customs Director-Generals all at once in a neutral environment. During the DG Meetings, the delegation will present a policy paper to the assembled Customs DGs during a formal consultation session. A draft of the policy paper was presented at the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Customs on April 26. It covers the following topics:

  • Enhancing supply chain efficiency, connectivity and security;
  • Supporting new players in international trade – especially in e-Commerce;
  • Improving customs and transfer pricing regimes; and
  • Reviewing and advocating for the ASEAN customs integration agenda
We will also arrange bilateral meetings with priority ASEAN Customs Directors-General for in-depth discussion on country-specific issues. These meetings will provide opportunities for members to learn more about the priorities of ASEAN Customs, build relationships, and advance issues of interest.
