The United States Department of State and USAID will lead a Renewable and Clean Energy Business Delegation to the Asia Clean Energy Forum 2015. The event will include an opening plenary on the evening of Monday, June 15, to be followed by a full agenda of panel discussions on Tuesday, June 16. The LMI Business Delegation is designed to bring together government energy decision-makers from LMI countries (Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam), U.S. experts in renewable energy, and U.S. renewable and clean energy companies to discuss clean energy solutions that promote energy security and sustainability in the Mekong sub-region. Government representatives from the LMI member countries will offer perspectives on renewable energy needs and opportunities in their markets. U.S. government renewable energy experts from the Departments of Commerce and Energy will participate, along with experts from Ex-Im, OPIC, and USTDA to review project development and finance opportunities available through the U.S. government.
This event will include panels and presentations with Southeast Asian and U.S. government officials along with private sector experts that will include: 1) Solar PV, 2) Wind, 3) Biomass, 4) Mini-grid Systems, 5) Energy Efficiency, 6) Sustainable Hydro, and 7) Renewable Energy Finance and U.S. Government Finance Programs. There will also be a keynote speech during the June 15 plenary by a senior U.S. State Department official (TBD).
