On Tuesday, October 27, Singapore's Energy Market Authority will host the launch of the International Energy Agency (IEA)’s “Southeast Asia Energy Outlook 2015” followed by the Asia Gas Market Workshop at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, as part of the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2015.
The IEA’s World Energy Outlook Special Report – Southeast Asia Energy Outlook 2015 is one of the key outcomes of ASEAN-IEA energy cooperation in 2015. The report examines the current status and future prospects for energy markets in this vibrant region, and what it means for energy security and the environment. The IEA Executive Director Dr Fatih Birol will share the key findings of this Special Report over lunch.
This will be followed by the Asia Gas Market Workshop, which is jointly organised by the US Department of State under the US-Asia Pacific Comprehensive Energy Partnership and the ASEAN-US Energy Cooperation Work Plan. The workshop will bring together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss the future development of the gas markets in Asia, addressing questions relating to gas pricing mechanism options as well as market challenges and the way forward.
