Energy Committee Q4 Call (w/ a briefing from the International Energy Agency (IEA))
Please join us for the last Energy Committee Quarterly Call of 2019. During the call Mr. Tim Gould, Head of Division, Energy Supply and Investment Outlooks, and Co-Director of the World Energy Outlook series at the International Energy Agency (IEA), will provide a briefing on the IEA's recently released 4th Southeast Asia Energy Outlook. The Southeast Asia Energy Outlook provides a comprehensive review of the energy system and current market trends in the 10 ASEAN countries. It explores a set of possible futures for the region with a particular focus on cooling, regional power trade, and investment in the electricity sector. Mr. Gould will provide an overview of the major trends examined in the report. A Q&A session will follow the briefing.
The remainder of the call will be dedicated to discussing the Energy Committee's priorities for 2020. This year, the Energy Committee launched a series of roundtables focusing on the U.S. Government's Asia EDGE (Enhancing Development and Growth through Energy) initiative, the energy-focused pillar of the Free and Open Indo-Pacific strategy. Possible topics for the roundtable series in 2020 will be a focus of the second half of the call. Topics could touch on some of the energy-related announcements during last week's Indo-Pacific Business Forum in Bangkok, Thailand (please see here for more details).
