Join the Council in welcoming East Java Governor Soekarwo and Chairman Lili Soleh Wartadipradja of the East Java Investment Board to Washington. The Governor and Chairman will highlight investment opportunities in East Java, placing particular focus on the manufacturing, agricultural and smelting sectors. Additionally, they will address members' questions on the rapidly evolving investment climate and business environment in the province. In 2013 East Java account ranked second of Indonesia’s 33 provinces, after only Jakarta, in macroeconomic stability and competitiveness. It accounted last year for 16 percent of national income and received $3.39 billion worth of foreign direct investment, marking a 91.5 percent increase since 2010.
