Workforce resilience in the energy sector is one of the key pillars of energy resilience as it involves building a sustainable and vibrant workforce in the energy sector. Besides helping to meet the changing demands of the energy industry a resilient energy workforce will ensure that the relevant expertise will be available to respond to emergency situations. To address these challenges and other issues, the Energy Resilience Taskforce (ERTF) recognizes the importance of building a resilient workforce in the energy sector, in line with the 2015 APEC Energy Ministers’ instructions in the Cebu Declaration for establishing an energy resilient APEC community.
To raise awareness of the challenges facing the energy workforce, Singapore's Energy Market Authority is organizing a Workshop on “Workforce Resilience in the Energy Sector”. This Workshop will serve as a platform for greater discussion on the key human resource challenges in the energy industry and facilitate dialogue on the best practices in strengthening energy workforce resilience among the APEC economies. In particular the Workshop will identify solutions, such as attracting and retaining talent, skilled labor mobility in APEC, as well as responses to market changes in the energy sector.
Experts of member economies, including the private sector, are invited to share their experiences, policies, and best practices from multiple perspectives. In addition, Workshop participants will explore opportunities for solutions and regional collaborative efforts to address these issues.
More information on the Workshop can be found here.
