DESCRIPTION:The Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI) will host a Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment Dialogue to discuss gender issues and will focus this year on women's economic empowerment\, gender-based violence\, women's role in mitigating climate change\, girls' education\, and cross-sector leadership.  The event will take place March 16-17 in New York\, on the sidelines of the Commission on the Status of Women.  An experts' dialogue will take place on March 16\, and a ministerial dialogue on March 17.
