DESCRIPTION:The US-ASEAN Business Council is pleased to announce an invitation-only forum on human capital development on Wednesday\, May 25 in Jakarta. The forum will bring a select group from industry\, academia and government together to discuss ways of strengthening the industrial and innovation elements of Indonesia's economy by improving the domestic ecosystem for human capital and workforce development. \n\n\n\nThe following are confirmed to join the forum:\n\n	National Planning and Development Agency (BAPPENAS)\n	Ministry of Manpower\n	Ministry of Higher Education\, Research and Technology\n	Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs\n	Indonesian Institutions of Higher Education\n	Indonesian National Academy of Science\n	Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO)\n	U.S. Embassy\, Jakarta\n	USAID\n	Arizona State University\n\nThe Council has invited the following to join the forum:\n\n\n	Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and Culture\n	Ministry of Trade \n	Ministry of Industry\n	Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN) \n\n\n\nThe forum would focus on a specific set of strategic topics such as Science\, Technology\, Engineering and Math (STEM) skills development\, highlight some concrete examples of workforce and human capital development projects\, and provide interested attendees an opportunity to participate in a follow up dialogue designed to explore building strategic public private human capital development alliances in Indonesia. One example is the successful Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program (HEEAP) which Vietnam has used to increase exports and foreign direct investment in their high tech industries.
