SUMMARY:ICT Privacy Mission Call
DESCRIPTION:The US-ASEAN Business Council\, in conjunction with the US-India Business Council\, is working to organize a high level\, focused mission to engage important regional governments -- Malaysia\, Singapore and India -- on recently enacted (Malaysia and Singapore) and recently drafted (India) privacy laws and regulations.\n\n\n\nThe purpose of the mission is to engage at a senior level in each country's government to detail industry perspectives on privacy rules\, how the evolution of technologies can contribute to the achievement of the goals of privacy regulations\, and the need for flexible interpretation and implementation of requirements under such laws. The mission aims to meet legislators\, regulators\, and policymakers in the law enforcement\, technology and international trade sectors to explore improved cooperation on domestic and cross border dimensions of privacy.\n\n\n\nThis mission needs to achieve senior government level access in order to discuss the global implications and consequences of privacy law. Therefore while we invite broad company participation we request that only senior executives with global responsibility for privacy participate in the mission and its planning.\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease join us for the second conference call discussing an ICT Privacy Mission to Malaysia and Singapore. This call is for Chief Privacy officers to develop topics and targets for engagement\, as well as discuss dates for the mission. For notes from the first call on this topic (April 29/30) please click here.\n\n\n\nIf you have any questions please contact Kim Yaeger at kyaeger@usasean.org.
