SUMMARY:2nd Planning Call for 2017 Mission to ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM)
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the second planning call for the 2017 Mission to the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) (Sept. 26-28).  The first part of the call will feature a briefing by Mr. Bradford Simmons\, Asia Energy Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Energy Resources.  Mr. Simmons will provide a briefing on the 35th Senior Officials' Meeting on Energy (SOME)\, which took place from July 17-22 in Para aque City\, Metro Manila\, Philippines.  Each year\, the discussions comprising the SOME meetings feed into those that take place during AMEM\, so having an understanding of what points resonated with the Senior Officials offers insight into what the priorities are likely to be during AMEM.    \n\n\n\nDuring the second part of the call\, the Council will provide an update on this year's business mission to AMEM\, including an update on meeting confirmations\, meeting requests\, logistics\, and talking points.  \n\n\n\nPlease register for the call by COB Friday\, September 15. \n\n\n\nRegistration for the Council's 2017 Mission to AMEM is still open\, even though the early bird registration deadline has passed.\n\n\n\nPlease contact Riley Smith at rsmith@usasean.org with any questions or input for the call.
