This one day event will be held in Jakarta. If you are interested in attending\, please read the instructions below.\n\n\n\nWe will hold two pre-mission conference calls leading up to the mission. The details of these calls will be released in a future mission update.\n\n \n\nMission Themes and Advocacy Messages:\n\n \n\nIndonesia faces urgent infrastructure challenges\, having suffered from protracted under-investment since the Asian financial crisis of the late 1990s. Infrastructure problems are now viewed as the leading obstacle to economic growth. According to the World Economic Forum's Global World Competitiveness 2013-2014\, Indonesia is ranked 61. Based on input from Infrastructure Committee members and the growing bilateral government to government ties\, the Council suggests the following themes and advocacy messages for this year's Infrastructure Industry Mission to Indonesia: \n\n\n Support Indonesia President Jokowi administration's plans to accelerate infrastructure development and address regional disparities in infrastructure. The administration had recently unveiled a bold plan to finance US$400 billion of infrastructure projects throughout President Jokowi's five-year term. With a budget of US$22 billion dedicated to infrastructure and billions more expected to come from the private sector\, Jokowi is allocating 53 percent more than last year's budget. Two priority infrastructure spending areas include power generation and seaport expansion. \n Encourage the government of Indonesia to facilitate and optimize public-private partnerships for the delivery of public infrastructure and other development projects. The Council advocates for the adoption or inclusion of international best practices and principles developed by APEC Finance Ministers PPP Expert Advisory Panel.\n Encourage the government of Indonesia to create robust long-term investment climates such as transparent regulatory frameworks\, pipelines of infrastructure investment opportunities\, transparent infrastructure procurement processes\, selection of suitable financial assets such as debt or equity and appropriate risk allocation for the private sector in order to generate additional infrastructure financing. \n Advocate for the value of using technology in the design and construction of hard infrastructure projects\; using technological software and processes\, a government infrastructure owner can save significant costs and time in completing a project\, as well as increase visibility and transparency into the project for all stakeholders. \n Encourage the institution of life cycle cost assessment in government procurement decisions.
