SUMMARY:1st Planning Call for the 2019 US-ABC Annual Business Mission to ASEAN Economic Ministers' (AEM)
DESCRIPTION:The Council is pleased to invite members to join the first US-ABC Business Mission to AEM 1st Planning Call on Wednesday\, August 7\, 2019 from 08.30 AM - 09.30 AM (SGT)/Tuesday\, August 6\, 2019 from 08.30 PM - 09.30 PM (EST).\n\n\n\nWe will discuss and present the preparation annual US-ABC Business Mission to AEM and US-ABC/USTR with the AEM in Bangkok on September 8 - 10\, 2019. Moreover\, the call will review the proposed theme for AEM\, initial presentation at the plenary consultation\, logistics and talking points. \n\n\n\nPlease see the detail of invitation and registration for 2019 Business Mission to AEM. \n\n\n\nMission Themes: \n\nWe propose that this year's mission themes and discussion topics reflect the recommendations in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) white paper (please see attached)\, which the Council's ASEAN Committee is currently drafting. The Council will share the white paper with member companies once the first draft is finished. In general\, the white paper's theme focus on: \n\n	In response to the current uncertainties in global trade\, advocating for the rapid realization of an ASEAN Single Market and identifying key reforms to help achieve this goal\; \n	Positioning U.S. companies as crucial partners in driving economic integration due to best-in-class thought leadership\, capacity building insight and experience\, and corporate social responsibility efforts\; \n	Ensuring consistent stakeholder engagement on cross-sector issues such as e-commerce\, standards\, trade facilitation\, and smart cities.\n\n\n\nA final agenda and dial-in details will be circulated to registered participants prior to the call.
